The Admiral had always maintained that impeccable discipline was the foundation of a respectable appearance.
Then someone introduced him to lemon yellow.
Crisp blue-and-ivory stripes, authoritative black bands and beautifully defined lines establish an air of considerable nautical importance. Two ornate metallic buttons reinforce the impression that this is a creation with a very serious understanding of protocol.
And then, quite unexpectedly, the proceedings take a decidedly sweeter turn.
An extravagant arrangement of lemon-yellow and delicately tinted folds interrupts the formality with a magnificent flourish, suggesting that the Admiral may have developed a rather unfortunate weakness for confectionery.
