Where small things are taken very seriously.
Paws & Pearls begins in the atelier.
Here, garments are not produced in collections of identical pieces. They are imagined individually, developed slowly, and made one at a time.
INSIDE THE ATELIER
The Beginnings
A length of satin. A fragment of lace. A handful of pearls. A piece of unexpected trim found and kept because, one day, it might become exactly the right detail.
THE CREATIVE PROCESS
An Idea Takes Shape
Some designs start with a fabric. Others begin with a colour, a texture, an unusual embellishment, or simply an idea about how something might move against a Pomeranian coat.
The garment develops from there — through draping, cutting, pinning, stitching, changing, reconsidering and, very often, making something by hand that did not exist before.
THE ART OF MAKING
The Work of the Hands
Couching is worked by hand. Pearls and stones are placed individually.
Bows are shaped, trims are altered, details are constructed and reconstructed until they belong to the garment rather than merely sitting upon it.
BEAUTY ON THE INSIDE
The Inside Matters Too
Some of the most important details are the ones that may never be seen in a photograph.
Linings are chosen and finished with care. Seams, edges and closures are considered not only for their appearance, but also for how they feel against the body and coat of a very small dog.
The inside of a garment should be worthy of its outside.
THE HOUSE PRINCIPLE
One of One
A collection may share a mood, a palette or an imagined world. But every Paws & Pearls creation is singular.
Each is made only once. Its exact design will never be repeated, even after it has found a home.
One creation. One small wearer. One story.
FROM THE HOUSE TO THE WORLD
Beyond the Atelier
Eventually, the pins are removed, the final thread is secured, and the creation is ready to be seen as a whole.
Within it are countless small decisions about proportion, texture, movement and finish. Details that began as possibilities have become part of something singular.
The Muse wears it first. And when the creation finds its new home, another chapter of its story begins.
The work leaves the atelier. The story continues.
